Cancelled God of War multiplayer game by Bluepoint Games revealed online
The franchise almost gained a multiplayer entry.
Reporters at mp1st obtained information and assets related to a cancelled God of War multiplayer title.
The GoW project was in development at Bluepoint Games. In mp1st published a collection of images, which reveal several character models, interiors, caves, and architectural details — at times the design looks as if it were lifted from God of War (2018) and Ragnarok:
The first notable detail apparent in the images is that the game was intended to be set in Greece. This is indicated by the presence of Greek temples, pottery, and other artifacts […] Besides the temple exterior, we also see other areas — caves and interior spaces — that appear to have been designed to support multiple players, such as an armory stocked with weapons and shields.
Sources reported that Hades played a specific role in the project — he was the owner of the armory — which implies the events would have taken place before God of War 3 in the series chronology (assuming the project was meant to be canonical). It was also proposed that locations could exist in two states: normal and “cursed”.
However, the God of War multiplayer project was eventually cancelled.
