Following the conclusion of October’s closed technical test for Marathon, Bungie announced plans for another playtest of its extraction shooter in December on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Testing will take place from December 13 to 16. Servers will be available six hours per day, from 01:00 to 07:00 Moscow time.
All participants are required to sign a non-disclosure agreement that prohibits streaming and the sharing of screenshots or gameplay footage.
Earlier, Sony confirmed that Marathon is slated to release before the end of March 2026, but Bungie has not provided a more specific launch date.
Venture into an abandoned colony on Tau Ceti IV to scavenge for valuables in Bungie’s team-based, first-person extraction shooter. Pick your Runner and team up in threes to contest weapons and upgrades against rival squads and hostile security forces. Survivors keep whatever loot they recover, which can be spent on future runs across the Tau Ceti system — or risk it all on an expedition to the derelict ship “Marathon” overhead.
