Blood of Dawnwalker converted into cooperative game with split-screen gameplay

Players will be able to complete quests together.

The Blood of Dawnwalker recently launched on consoles and PC. It is a new single-player game from the game director of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but some players wanted to experience the vampire action RPG in co-op.

That option is now available thanks to a modder. MrSecondPlayer shared details about creating a cooperative modification. Alpha version 0.1.0 is currently available online, meaning the work is incomplete and much remains to be refined.

This is not online play, but rather local co-op featuring a horizontal split-screen. The keyboard and mouse are assigned to Player 1, while the first connected gamepad controls Player 2’s character.

Because The Blood of Dawnwalker is fundamentally a single-player game and was not designed for co-op, various technical issues may occur. Certain cutscenes and areas do not support split-screen, and the combat system alongside reactions to the second player’s actions remain unpolished.

MrSecondPlayer distributes the “Dawnwalker Together – 2 Player Split-Screen Co-op” mod for free via Nexus Mods. The developer advises The Blood of Dawnwalker players to back up their save files before testing the co-op mode.

AshenOne_VI published gameplay footage, which can be viewed at the following link.
