Blizzard Reveals Amazon Class in Diablo IV Will Be Exclusively Female

A new weapon type will arrive in the game alongside the Amazon.

The creators of Diablo IV held a special stream dedicated to the future of the game. They discussed the 15th season, titled Hell’s Legacy, as well as a new class.

The Diablo IV team presented concepts for the Amazon. The developers specified that this will be an exclusively female class and discussed their approach to shaping its design:

Military experience, unsurpassed athleticism, and magical powers: these are the three design pillars we rely on when working on the new class. The Amazon is a warrior with iron discipline who, in a difficult moment, calls upon her sisters and Ascari ancestors by using a mystical connection with them.

Diablo IV will feature four Amazon archetypes, and a completely new weapon type for the fourth installment will also be introduced into the game: the spear.

Protector: armed with a sword and shield, strengthening both herself and allies in combat.
Raider: pierces enemies through with her spear and immediately retreats, relying on her agility.
Patroller: acts tactically, accurately bombarding enemies from afar.
Leader: commands phalanxes of Valkyries, sending them into battle.

The Amazon is planned to be added to Diablo IV in the first half of 2027.
