Blizzard Announces 30th Anniversary Diablo Player Milestone
Over the course of 30 years, the Diablo franchise has attracted 130 million players, including both buyers and subscription service users.
Blizzard is celebrating the 30th anniversary of Diablo with several major announcements. The company officially unveiled Diablo V, confirmed that a Diablo series is in the works for Netflix, and announced the conclusion of major support for Diablo IV. The game will not receive another large expansion, and seasons will instead be released to pave the way for Diablo V.
A new milestone for the franchise was also revealed, as the Diablo audience reached 130 million players. This figure includes both purchasers and users who gained access to the games through subscriptions.
Even taking into account the free-to-play Diablo Immortal, this result remains a significant achievement. Blizzard continues to grow the popularity of one of its largest gaming franchises.
