Indie developers are often where the boldest ideas and most inventive storytelling emerge. If mainstream AAA fare feels familiar, indies frequently deliver stranger, more ambitious experiences — usually for less money and with a smaller time commitment.

“Two are triple-A, and the rest are indies,” Béart explains when pressed about the titles still cloaked by NDAs. “Play the indies, too.” The actor says many of these projects are now slated for spring 2026, after developers shifted schedules to avoid clashing with the anticipated GTA 6 release later that year.

“You’re going to be sick of me, and I’m sorry,” Béart laughs. “Some of these I’ve been sitting on for up to two years, some are a couple of months. Why am I apologizing? Screw you, play the games.” Fair point — keep an ear out over the next six months or so.

Béart reveals that Nocturne — Shadowheart’s companion in Baldur’s Gate 3 — was originally pitched as more of a “sexy demon” before they reimagined her with a more “girl-next-door” energy.
