Asset Modifications Patch

Asset Modifications Patch

Cities: Skylines II - Asset Mods

Greetings, Mayors!

We’re pleased to introduce the first public iteration of Asset Mods support for Cities: Skylines II.

This update delivers a beta version of the Editor that enables creation and sharing of asset mods. To support the new asset workflow the base game and every DLC must receive a small compatibility update — you’ll see updates for previously released content, but no DLC assets have been altered beyond making them compatible with this patch.

With this change, creators can begin publishing their assets and you’ll soon find them available through Paradox Mods. Many creators have already started preparing content; it may take a short while before those assets appear in the mods catalogue.

Before you download any new mods, please ensure the base game and all DLCs are fully updated and restart the game. Attempting to use mods without applying these updates may cause unexpected issues, so a quick update and restart is strongly recommended.

If you’re a modder planning to create assets with this version of the Editor, we’ve published new guides to help you get started on our Wiki. Find them here: cs2.paradoxwikis.com/Modding.

We can’t wait to see what you build — share your favorites with us and we’ll highlight the best creations.
