Wemade Max and developer Madngine have released the first official trailer for Project Tal, an open-world, single-player action RPG drawing deeply from Korean myth and folklore. The footage is visually impressive, but the studio has confirmed the title is slated for a console and PC launch sometime in 2027.
According to Madngine, Project Tal reinterprets Korea’s traditional Tal masks and the stories that surround them, then weaves those cultural elements into a fantastical world for players to explore. The trailer highlights expansive landscapes, fast-paced action, and encounters with massive, imposing creatures.

The trailer also introduces a companion system designed to keep players from facing the world alone. Madngine says companions “dynamically respond to the player’s combat style and environment,” and each ally brings distinct abilities and combat roles—ranging from close-quarters melee to ranged magic—along with unique personalities.
“Project Tal combines an emotionally resonant story about healing a wounded world with the exhilarating combat of a classic action RPG,” said Wemade Max Co. CEO Sohn Myun-seok in the press release.
Whether Project Tal evolves into a globally competitive AAA open-world experience will be determined after its 2027 release on unspecified consoles and PC.
