Control Resonant could be one of the major surprises of 2026 as Remedy will allow the first reviews to be published on September 18, nearly a week before release.

In the gaming industry, an early review embargo lift usually signals that a publisher is confident in the quality of a project. Remedy Entertainment confirmed that journalists will be able to share their scores for Control Resonant on September 18 at 4:00 PM Moscow time.

The game will be released on September 24 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, while owners of the digital Deluxe Edition on Sony’s console will gain access 48 hours early. Remedy calls Control Resonant the largest and most ambitious project in the studio’s history.

The main protagonist will be Dylan Faden, the brother of Jesse from the first installment. The change in protagonist led to a complete overhaul of the combat system: instead of the service weapon pistol, Dylan uses the Aberrant melee weapon, which transforms into lethal blades and powerful hammers. The new system is designed to make combat more dynamic, straightforward, and brutal.
