11 bit studios announced that the first substantial DLC for The Alters is scheduled for 2026, and that Frostpunk 1886 has entered full production with plans for long-term support.
During a video conference, company president Przemysław Marshal said the major DLC for The Alters is expected to arrive in the late first half of 2026, roughly timed to the game’s anniversary.
Frostpunk 1886 has now moved into full production. The development team currently exceeds 20 people and will be expanded to around 30 staff. According to Marshal, there are no plans to include microtransactions at this stage. The title is intended to be supported for many years through more frequent DLC releases. Its launch is targeted for 2027.
For context, The Alters is a science‑fiction survival game in which the protagonist creates alternate versions of themselves to endure on a hostile planet. Frostpunk 1886 is a post‑apocalyptic strategy focused on city-building and the moral dilemmas a society faces while struggling to survive in an icy world.
