Your Story (Updated Version)

With our massive anniversary update now behind us, the team is shifting gears toward the next phase of development. While we aren’t quite ready to showcase these new features in video format, I wanted to take this moment to open the floor for another collaborative discussion.

I recently shared a beautiful medieval-themed love story created by one of our team members. She crafted the entire piece using in-game tools and assets available on Canvas. Watching her work, it struck me that while she created something truly special, she was still constrained by the current limits of our toolset. That got me wondering about your experiences with inZOI.

I know many of you are eager to weave unique narratives and simulate specific gameplay scenarios. While we strive to provide the necessary tools to bring your visions to life, we recognize that the current system is far from perfect. I’m sure there have been moments where you’ve hit a wall, thinking, “I wish I could do this,” or “If only this mechanic were more flexible.” That is exactly the kind of feedback I am looking for this week.

What stories have you been unable to tell due to current game restrictions? What was missing that prevented you from achieving your vision? I want to know what we can implement—or improve—to grant you the total freedom required to realize your gameplay ideas. Some requests may be better suited for future mods, while others are opportunities for us to integrate new features directly into the core game. Above all, understanding your creative goals helps me align our development roadmap with your needs.

Please share your thoughts in the comments below. As always, I am eager to hear your perspective.

With gratitude,
Kjun

Kjun’s Reply to Your Feedback

Happy Wednesday, everyone. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading your posts this week—there has been a wealth of fantastic suggestions. While our recent hotfix addressed some immediate issues, I sincerely apologize for the lingering instability and crashes. As a result, we are dedicating much of April to shoring up the game’s technical foundation.

That said, your feedback is constantly inspiring new ideas for the game’s future.

Family & Social Dynamics

Many of you are looking for a more profound and realistic family experience. Key requests include:

  • Expanded systems for university life, childcare, and education.
  • More nuanced expressions of affection and complex family dynamics, including conflict and reconciliation.
  • Deepened everyday experiences like kindergarten, after-school activities, and “secret” social events for teens.
  • Autonomous NPC lifecycles, such as marriage and career progression.
  • Improved romantic interactions, pregnancy, and parental leave systems.

We are actively addressing the lack of content for younger life stages. Soon, players will be able to visit the hospital to receive ultrasounds, check a baby’s health, discover their gender, and even host gender reveal parties.

Building & Customization Freedom

You’ve expressed a desire for greater creative control in Build Mode. We are planning to roll out the following improvements through July:

  • Enhanced object manipulation: Free scaling, rotation, merging, and vertical movement.
  • Improved architecture: Better placement for curved walls, stairs, and modular structures.
  • Refined tools: Adjusting ceiling heights and more flexible door/window placement.
  • Technical support: Maintaining object states during save/load and expanded Canvas upload compatibility.

Careers & Job Systems

Players want careers that feel impactful and diverse. We are currently reviewing feedback on:

  • Active professions (Medical, Legal, Emergency Services, and Culinary).
  • Niche careers (Journalism, Direction, and K-pop idols).
  • Enhanced workplace interactions and part-time employment opportunities.
  • For our new cinema system, we are exploring ways to support first-person viewing and custom video playback.

Cinematic Storytelling & Tools

To help you create better content, we are looking into providing more robust camera controls, animation presets, and pose-creation tools. We are also developing “script mods” to empower the community to create the narratives they desire, bridging the gap where our official tools might fall short.

NPC Intelligence & Personality

We hear your requests for NPCs that feel truly alive. We are working on an experimental feature, arriving in May, which will allow NPCs to react dynamically to their environment—interpreting sounds, sights, and actions to engage in more natural social interactions, rather than relying on repetitive, scheduled behavior.

Immersion & Future Roadmap

We are committed to making inZOI a world of emergent, sometimes unpredictable outcomes. Our long-term goals include deeper environmental realism (weather effects on characters, complex physics), functional banking and crime systems, and broader mod support for fantasy elements like supernatural beings and pets.

Thank you for your candid feedback and your unwavering support. inZOI may have had a challenging start, but we are committed to iterating and improving every single day until we reach our full potential. We’ll be back with another update on Friday.

Best,
Kjun
