Wo Long 2 Will Feature Wall-Running and New Combat Mechanic Instead of Parrying
Team Ninja is introducing wall-running, fall damage-free aerial combat, and a new combat mechanic that replaces constant parrying in Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember.
Team Ninja shared new details about Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember at ChinaJoy 2026. The sequel will feature increased verticality and aerial combat, allowing players to run along walls and execute attacks in the air while the protagonist takes no fall damage.
The combat system will introduce a new mechanic that players must use instead of constantly parrying attacks. The developers are also improving enemy artificial intelligence and reworking several bosses to reduce situations where off-screen enemies attack and quickly kill the player.
Wo Long 2 will retain multi-boss battles and introduce an open world. Team Ninja intends to fix the flaws of the first game, though performance remains under question for now.
The release is scheduled for early 2027 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
