Warhammer 40,000 fans have a significant update. Games Workshop announced a new Ork codex, a redesigned Trukk, a command pack, and updated Mek and Warboss miniatures. Individual releases for units featured in the Armageddon starter set are also coming.
The Big Summer Warhammer Preview Show 2026 confirmed that Orks will be the first army to receive a codex for the new edition of the game, supported by a wave of new miniatures.
The updated Trukk kit offers extensive customization options. Players can choose between weapon configurations like saws or claws and mount rocket launchers or heavy shooters. Builders can also attach a spiked ram or dozer blade and adjust the front axles to tilt the vehicle chassis.
The range includes a Mek capable of repairing vehicles and granting them a +1 bonus to hit rolls. The new Warboss miniature features 16 different head assembly combinations.
Codex: Orks introduces a revised Waaagh rule that provides unique bonuses based on the intensity of the units. The book includes 15 detachments for variety, along with painting guides, lore, and details on Ork culture and conflict zones. The codex also brings back the bestiary format for unit descriptions.
Each book contains a code to unlock rules in the Warhammer 40,000 App. This grants access to quarterly lore and rule updates throughout the edition. As new codices arrive, the app will continue to support those factions with additional detachments and rules.
Veterans of the Armageddon starter set will see standalone releases for their units. Players can expand their forces with new Weirdboys, Dakka-rigs, and Battlewagons. The Armageddon Kommand Krew set combines a Big Boss, a banner bearer, and a Painboy with a grot orderly. Other units will arrive in their own individual boxes.
A new command pack includes 94 reference cards for detachments, stratagems, and enhancements. It also features double-sided tokens to track status effects and stat penalties. Players can also purchase themed Ork dice.
