CDPR to Reveal Unexpected Side of Dandelion in The Witcher 3 Expansion
The upcoming expansion The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past will center on the friendship between Geralt and Dandelion as they travel together to the bard’s hometown.
Songs of the Past will serve as the final adventure for Geralt of Rivia, but the story will focus on more than just the witcher. Speaking at gamescom 2026, Fool’s Theory Creative Director Karolina Kuza-Rokosz explained that the expansion will provide a deeper look at Dandelion, one of Geralt’s closest friends.
Geralt decided to retire, right? What would make you leave that comfortable life? When your best friend asks you to.
According to her, Dandelion is Geralt’s complete opposite and a person who helps the witcher open up and talk about his feelings.
We wanted to show them together to explore the theme of friendship in more detail and say something more about them. Dandelion is very interesting.
The events will take players to Dandelion’s hometown of Letten. The bard “very, very much” needs Geralt’s help. The developers describe the relationship between the two grown and completely different men as a “bromance.”
The expansion will also introduce Dandelion’s cousin, Lilla, who wants to uncover the dark secrets of Letten.
