“Verity’s Secret Diary” Gets an Online Release Date

The thriller Verity, starring Anne Hathaway, will arrive on digital platforms abroad on October 27, according to WhenToStream.

Adapted from the novel by Colleen Hoover (It Ends with Us), the film opened in theaters in early October. It has earned $146 million against a $40 million budget. The story follows Lowen (Dakota Johnson), a struggling young writer hired to finish the latest book series by bestselling novelist Verity Crawford. Verity is bedridden after a tragic car accident. While sorting through the manuscript notes, Lowen discovers Verity’s unpublished autobiography, and its pages are filled with confessions to murder.

Josh Hartnett also appears in the film, which was directed by Michael Showalter (Hello, Love Again). Critics were harsh, and it holds a 31% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
