It appears Ubisoft is stepping up activity around the Splinter Cell franchise.
According to insider MyTimeToShineHello, a live-action Splinter Cell project has resumed development. The report does not clarify whether this is intended as a film or a series, but it indicates Ubisoft is refocusing on the IP and advancing it in multiple directions simultaneously.
In October, Netflix premiered the animated series Splinter Cell: Deathwatch from Derek Kolstad, which has already been renewed for a second season. And just recently, it emerged that David Grivel — who led the project’s development in 2021–2022 — has returned to work on the Splinter Cell remake.
More than a dozen years have passed since Splinter Cell: Blacklist debuted. Despite production interruptions and setbacks, the franchise remains one of Ubisoft’s key properties, and Grivel’s comeback underscores the publisher’s continued commitment to reviving the adventures of the iconic agent Sam Fisher.
