Tom Holland has ascended to the top of the global box office, surpassing Zoe Saldaña to become the highest-grossing actor in cinematic history. According to Variety India, the total theatrical earnings for films featuring the 30-year-old star have reached approximately $15.5 billion. This eclipses the previous record held by Saldaña, who had claimed the top spot in January following the release of “Avatar: Fire and Ash” with a total exceeding $15.4 billion.

The primary catalysts for Holland’s record-breaking achievement were two major blockbusters released in 2026. “Spider-Man: New Day” generated over $2.4 billion globally, while Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey,” which also stars Holland, pulled in roughly $1.4 billion. These heavy hitters propelled Holland to the summit of the rankings, making him the youngest actor ever to achieve the feat.

Before Saldaña’s tenure at the top, the title was held by Scarlett Johansson, preceded by a long reign from Samuel L. Jackson. Notably, Holland secured this milestone with a significantly smaller filmography than many of his peers. Looking ahead, the actor’s upcoming slate includes an untitled Fred Astaire biopic helmed by Paul King, an adaptation of John Grisham’s “The Partner”—which Holland will also produce—and the racing drama “American Speed,” co-starring Austin Butler.
