Josh Brolin and Jeremy Renner to Star in Survival Thriller

Oscar nominees Josh Brolin and Jeremy Renner will lead the upcoming thriller A Speck in the Sea, Deadline reports.

Based on a true story that unfolded in the Atlantic Ocean in 2013, the film follows fisherman John Aldridge (Brolin), who falls overboard while his crewmate Anthony Sosinski (Renner) sleeps at the helm. When Anthony wakes up, he launches a rescue effort as John fights to stay alive against the odds.

Orlando von Einsiedel («The Cycle of Love») will direct from a screenplay by Jeff Pope («Philomena»). A release date has yet to be announced.

Brolin and Renner appeared together last year in «Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery».
