Neve Campbell Promised to Return in Scream 8

Neve Campbell has confirmed that she will reprise her role as Sidney Prescott in the eighth installment of the Scream franchise.

You know I can’t say anything about Scream 8. But I’ll be in it,

Campbell said in an interview with the Associated Press.

News of the next film first emerged in April. Lilla and Nora Zuckerman, whose credits include Poker Face and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., are writing the slasher’s screenplay. Plot details and a release date have yet to be announced.

Campbell has appeared in every Scream film except the sixth. Released in February 2026, Scream 7 set a franchise box-office record with $207 million. Critics were less impressed, however, with the film earning a 29% score on Rotten Tomatoes and 35 out of 100 on Metacritic.
