“This is a death sentence for the industry”: Insider claims players misunderstood Rockstar support regarding GTA VI physical discs
Rockstar Games likely will not release a physical version of GTA VI.
Preorders for Grand Theft Auto VI recently opened. Players discovered that the physical edition contains only a download code. Fans contacted Rockstar Games support to ask if the company intends to release full disc versions later.

Some players interpreted the message as confirmation of future disc releases. However, a source from The Hollywood Reporter stated otherwise.
The Hollywood Reporter journalist considers the Rockstar Games decision to provide Grand Theft Auto VI only in digital format a death knell for the physical media industry.
The studio expects to release GTA VI this November.
