Theropods, a hand-animated point-and-click adventure from Lost Token and publisher Dionous Games, received a new gameplay trailer. The game is scheduled to launch for PC on July 23, 2026, with Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store listed as release platforms.
The trailer focuses on the central idea behind Theropods: the story is told without dialogue, subtitles or long text scenes. Players read the world through animation, sound, creature behavior and small reactions in each location.
The game follows a young hunter whose village is attacked after a glowing stone falls from the sky. The stone leads her to a stranded spaceman, and the two characters have to cross a prehistoric world filled with dinosaurs, hostile tribes and environmental puzzles.
How the adventure works
- wordless storytelling built around gestures and animation
- frame-by-frame hand-drawn art converted into pixel visuals
- puzzles based on observation rather than combat
- jungle, canyon, cave and dinosaur territory locations
- a prehistoric setting with a sci-fi twist
Theropods began as a Flash game jam project in 2015. Lost Token has spent the following years turning the idea into a full adventure, with Dionous Games handling publishing.
The new trailer gives the clearest look yet at its puzzle flow and the unlikely partnership between the hunter and the spaceman.
