Not all players were satisfied with the quality of the updated version.

Soon after the release of the remastered version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, players began complaining about various technical problems. CD Projekt RED reviewed the feedback and started releasing patches.

Hotfix 5.00c for the PC version of the remastered The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was recently released and is now available on Steam, GOG, the Epic Games Store, Battle.net, and for Xbox Play Anywhere.

The developers shared that they fixed a bug that prevented players from launching the classic version of the game (1.32, prior to the next-gen update). They also reported that they updated the graphics in Velen and reverted a change that caused significant performance and graphical issues for some players when HairWorks was enabled.

Hotfix 5.00c patch notes:

  • Fixed an issue where the game could not be saved or loaded if the path to the Documents folder contained special characters.
  • Fixed an issue where voice acting became noticeably quieter than other sounds in the game after switching between menu tabs.
  • Made various visual changes in Velen, including adjustments to bloom settings, foliage lighting, saturation, and path-traced lighting.
  • Fixed an issue where telemetry settings were saved incorrectly.
  • Fixed an issue in the GOG version where earned achievements did not appear in the list.

CD Projekt RED continues to accept player feedback regarding issues in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and reports can be submitted through the technical support portal.
