The Sims 4 Adds Free Content and Performance Updates Focused on Inclusivity

Developers have prepared new custom elements for Sims.

In late August, the Maxis studio at Electronic Arts introduced another update for The Sims 4. This time, the creators of the life simulation prepared not only performance improvements, but also new content.

Developers made a change to how the in-game store works. Image caching (temporary storage) has been introduced, which is intended to reduce loading time and data volume during repeat visits to the store:

The temporary storage will automatically save data for 14 days from the last store visit and delete unnecessary images to free up space on the device. The maximum size of the temporary storage is 250 MB, but the actually utilized volume is usually smaller.

The Sims 4 added content to Create a Sim mode aimed at “representing different bodies,” with clothing and looks designed to flatter Sims of any body type.

In total, Maxis prepared 6 new clothing items—a versatile dress, top, jeans, cardigan, shirt, and pants—along with 5 styled looks and 5 pre-made Sims created to showcase the new sets. In addition, an afro-style hairstyle was added.

Several bugs were also fixed:

One of the most common causes of crashes on PlayStation, which occurred during game startup, has been eliminated.
When navigating to the store from Create a Sim mode and scrolling through pages with the right joystick, the controls no longer get stuck.
When scrolling through the content information page with the right joystick, the controls no longer get stuck.
