The Red Cathedral will be free on Steam from August 25 to September 6
Devir will make The Red Cathedral: Digital Edition free to play on Steam for 12 days. The promotion starts on August 25 and ends on September 6, 2026.
The turn-based strategy game adapts the award-winning tabletop title for PC and mobile devices. Its full release is planned for this fall on Steam, Android and iOS. Cross-platform play will support matches for one to four players.
Players lead teams of builders competing for the Tsar’s favor. Each team claims sections of the cathedral, gathers construction materials and decides how to use resources for building and decoration. The influence of the city’s guilds and clergy also affects the competition. The player with the most prestige after the cathedral is completed wins.
The digital edition includes local and online multiplayer, matches with random opponents and solo play against three AI difficulty levels. A step-by-step tutorial explains the resource system and the central rondel mechanic.
Devir says the physical edition of The Red Cathedral has sold more than 100,000 copies. The Steam page currently lists the digital version as coming soon.
