The Outer Worlds 2 Graphics Glitch on PS5 Pro — Developers Replace PSSR to Fix It
The launch on Sony’s console ran into problems.
The Outer Worlds 2 was released recently — Obsidian Entertainment’s new title also arrived on the PlayStation 5 Pro. Shortly afterward, reports of technical issues began to surface.
The developers rolled out hotfix 1.0.4.1 to tackle several of these problems: for instance, events in multiple quests now play out correctly, and several critical crashes have been addressed.
There’s a platform-specific change for The Outer Worlds 2 on PS5 Pro — Sony’s proprietary scaling tech PSSR has been replaced after it caused graphical glitches:
On PS5 Pro the game now uses TSR for upscaling to eliminate the grass blur on Paradise Island and to reduce light-related noise in the visuals.
