“The Odyssey” becomes the highest-grossing R-rated film
Christopher Nolan’s epic feature The Odyssey has officially seized the crown as the highest-grossing R-rated film in cinematic history✱restricted to viewers under 18, surpassing the previous record-holder, Deadpool & Wolverine.
The Odyssey concluded its historic run with a staggering global total of $1.352 billion, comprising $516 million from North American audiences and an additional $836 million from international markets. For comparison, Deadpool & Wolverine generated $1.338 billion throughout its 2024 theatrical release.
The star-studded adaptation of Homer’s classic poem features an ensemble cast including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, and Zendaya.
