MSK to hold a course on the Meisner acting technique
Starting October 27, the Moscow School of Cinema is launching a brand-new intensive acting program focused on the renowned Meisner technique. Spanning five action-packed days, the curriculum delivers roughly 30 hours of rigorous hands-on practice, with each six-hour daily session conducted entirely in English.
Participants will not only explore the foundations of this methodology but also test them out on the floor. Key pillars of the Meisner approach include emotional liberation, working through impulses, deep listening to scene partners, radical presence, and effortless spontaneity. Moreover, students will dive into improvisation exercises and craft their own distinct characters from scratch.
A stellar lineup of world-class actors swears by the Meisner technique, including Anthony Hopkins, Sam Rockwell, Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton, Gregory Peck, and countless others.
The course will be led by Scott Trost — a distinguished acting coach, executive director of the Meisner Institute, as well as an accomplished actor, director, and producer.
