The Last of Us Part II PC Multiplayer Mod Gets Gameplay and Release Window
Modder Speclizer is actively building an unofficial online mode for The Last of Us Part II Remastered on PC, showcasing recent progress in a new developer update.
While Naughty Dog never shipped an official standalone multiplayer component for the sequel, modders have stepped in following the game’s arrival on PC. If development stays on track, players will soon be able to try the first public build. Speclizer noted that functional matchmaking is already integrated, meaning users will not have to handle manual network setups. Instead, they can simply queue up and let the system search for available opponents.
The mod will allow players to customize their loadouts by selecting several weapons and equipping three active skills. Available perks include restoring health by landing headshots and speeding up the use of medkits.

The public release for The Last of Us Part II Remastered multiplayer mod is scheduled for September 2026, though Speclizer has not yet announced a specific day. The current build features five playable maps: School, Seraphite Camp, Resort, Gas Station, and Houses. The developer plans to add more environments in future updates.
