“The Handmaiden” Director May Helm “The Italian Job” Sequel

Paul Feig is currently in preliminary talks with Paramount Pictures to direct a follow-up to the 2003 heist classic, The Italian Job. While the studio is actively searching for a screenwriter to develop the project, no cast members or further production details have been confirmed. It is worth noting that a formal deal with Feig has yet to be finalized.

F. Gary Gray’s The Italian Job served as a remake of the 1969 British cult favorite starring Michael Caine. The narrative follows a skilled team of thieves led by Charlie Croker, who orchestrate an elaborate plot to recover stolen gold after being betrayed by one of their own.

For Feig, this opportunity represents another high-profile endeavor following the resounding success of his thriller The Maid, which grossed approximately $400 million at the global box office. The director is currently helming its sequel, The Housemaid’s Secret, which is slated for release in December 2027.
