The Duskbloods Will Not Require Perfect PvP Play Thanks to Special Mechanic

The Duskbloods will not require players to master PvP combat, as AI-controlled Kin companions can handle battles while players hang back.

FromSoftware confirmed the upcoming title combines PvE and PvP elements. Each match will place 12 players against one another and hostile NPCs, with the final three players determining the winner. According to director Hidetaka Miyazaki, winning does not require being an “excellent PvP player.”

Kin [computer-controlled companions] can be made a more meaningful part of the game, and you can customize your character to further increase their strength and turn them into units that fight for you while you step back a bit.

The system works similarly to Spirit Ashes in Elden Ring. Miyazaki added that character customization will support playstyles designed for users who want to avoid non-stop, high-pressure PvP combat.

The Duskbloods is scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch 2, with an estimated release in late 2026.
