The Blood of Dawnwalker Developers to Add 60 FPS Mode Following Criticism

Rebel Wolves has confirmed that The Blood of Dawnwalker will feature a 60 FPS performance mode on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X at launch, adding the option through a day-one patch.

In August, the studio showcased console gameplay for The Blood of Dawnwalker across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X (without showing the Xbox Series S version). At the time, none of these platforms were slated to run at 60 FPS on release day. Depending on the selected mode, players were only going to receive a target of 30 or 40 frames per second.

Following criticism from the community, the studio addressed player concerns with a new announcement, clarifying how console performance options were initially communicated:

On Friday, when we answered your questions about console performance, we only shared what we were confident we could deliver by release. Performance Mode was already in development, but still undergoing testing—we simply weren’t ready to commit to it for launch day.

The developers noted that after reviewing feedback, it became clear how critical 60 FPS support is to many players. Rebel Wolves then prioritized completing another round of internal testing for the setting:

The results have given us the confidence to confirm that Performance Mode will be available on day one.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is scheduled to release on September 3, 2026. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, where players can add it to their Steam wishlist.
