Paramount Pictures’ upcoming Call of Duty adaptation is steadily revealing more details.

Paramount Pictures has struck a deal with Activision to develop a Call of Duty feature, and the first names attached to the project have surfaced. According to Deadline, Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone, The Ranch) and Peter Berg (Lone Survivor, Deepwater Horizon) will spearhead the film.

The pair previously collaborated on Hell or High Water, which earned four Academy Award nominations, and on Wind River — a film for which Sheridan received recognition at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival.

Sources report that Sheridan and Berg will co-write the screenplay, with Berg set to direct. Both will serve as producers alongside David Glasser — head of 101 Studios, the company behind Sheridan’s series for Paramount.

It remains unclear whether the movie will adapt a specific game from the franchise or present an original storyline. Insiders say Paramount envisions a large-scale international production that preserves Call of Duty’s kinetic intensity while remaining accessible to a wide audience.

No start date for filming or release has been announced yet.
