Producer Yusuke Tomizawa spoke about upcoming remasters and the next major entry in the JRPG franchise.
In an interview he outlined the development status of several Tales of projects, confirming that one remaster will be announced in the near future and that the Tales of Xillia 2 remaster is still in production.
Tomizawa said at least two Tales of remaster projects are currently in progress, spanning different phases of development — from early testing to final polish. He did not disclose specific titles, but the announcement for the next remaster is not far off.
The producer also noted that over 70% of the series’ sales come from overseas markets, which reflects a growing global audience and an expanding console market rather than a drop in interest within Japan.
The team is working on a new Tales of installment, though an official announcement will require more time.
The remaster of Tales of Xillia — an enhanced version of the 2011 PlayStation 3 game — will be the next major release in the series.
The release is scheduled for October 31, 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
