Speaking to VGC (through an interpreter), Suda explained that Nintendo platforms remain important to Grasshopper because they helped the studio gain visibility early in its history. “We have no intention of ignoring Switch 2,” he said.

Although Suda didn’t announce any firm plans, he said the studio is “considering” a Switch 2 version. The deciding factor is technical compatibility: “We’re developing Romeo Is a Dead Man in Unreal Engine 5, so we need to confirm whether the engine can perform well on Switch 2.” Because this is Grasshopper’s first UE5 title, tools like Nanite and Lumen are still new to the team.

Suda reiterated that porting Romeo Is a Dead Man to Switch 2 is “something we’d very much like to do,” and added that the studio hopes to bring additional future titles to Nintendo’s wide-reaching platform.
