Our second hotfix for Subnautica 2 has officially arrived. This update introduces additional resource nodes, refines Hammerhead AI, resolves several bugs and stability issues, and incorporates updates to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
We are actively developing further improvements based on your valuable feedback, particularly regarding creature balancing and overall graphical optimization. Expect additional refinements to roll out in the coming weeks.
Please find the complete patch notes below:
- Resource Distribution: Increased the prevalence of Silver in early-game zones and Troilite in late-game regions.
- Creature Behavior: Hammerheads are no longer aggressively attracted to Tadpole lights. This adjustment prevents them from relentlessly following players back to their bases.
- Bug Fixes:
- Resolved an issue where players were occasionally teleported back to their base while piloting a Tadpole.
- Patched an infinite oxygen exploit that occurred if a player perished from hunger or thirst while in a Tadpole.
- Stability & Performance:
- Fixed a crash triggered by network disconnections during multiplayer sessions.
- Resolved a random crash affecting late-game environments.
- Optimized rendering performance when using Epic visual settings.
- Legal & Privacy:
- Added an in-game notification clarifying that telemetry data collection can be disabled via the settings menu at any time (currently available in English; translations arriving next patch).
- Updated the Terms of Service, including revisions to the Preamble, Limited License, Gameplay Videos, Prohibited Uses, Ownership, Player-Submitted Content, Limitation of Liability, and Transfer of Terms.
- Revised the Privacy Policy, specifically regarding the Privacy Notice, data collection practices, information sharing, and security protocols.
Due to these legal updates, you will be prompted to re-accept the Terms of Service upon launching Subnautica 2. These changes take effect immediately or, where applicable, following any mandatory regional notice periods.
