Strategy Game The Lunacy Announced
The developers behind Above the Snow have announced The Lunacy: That Game About a Cult, a cult management strategy game set during the Spanish Inquisition. The historical setting serves as the backdrop for an absurd adventure story filled with dark humor.
Players step into the shoes of a prophet convinced of their connection to ancient gods. The goal is to establish a cult and construct an underground temple beneath the city, outfitting the space with altars, pews, and piles of skulls. Leaders must also perform rituals and expand the congregation through sermons.
Followers can be sent on expeditions throughout the Renaissance-era city. These cultists gather resources, spy, steal, preach, and fish while trying to evade the Inquisition and local bandits. The developers promise hundreds of events featuring unpredictable outcomes.
As the cult expands, players can influence local residents and seize control of new districts. The prophet’s mental state will directly affect gameplay and their perception of the world, leaving players to question whether the ancient gods are real or if the events are entirely a product of madness.
The Lunacy: That Game About a Cult does not have a release date yet. The game is currently available to wishlist on Steam.
