Steve Buscemi to Star in Murderbot Season 2
Steve Buscemi has been cast in the second season of the Apple TV+ sci-fi series Murderbot. He joins an ensemble cast that features Tramell Tillman, Michael Sheen, Wanda Sykes, and Nicholas Braun.
The core cast from the debut season is also set to return, with Alexander Skarsgård reprising his role as the titular protagonist—a self-aware security android who has hacked its own governor module to achieve autonomy.
The series is an adaptation of Martha Wells’ acclaimed The Murderbot Diaries book series. In the first season, the SecUnit, which would much rather binge-watch futuristic soap operas than interact with humans, finds itself tasked with protecting a research crew, leading it to form unexpected bonds with the team.
An official premiere date for the second season has yet to be announced, though it is currently slated for a 2027 release on Apple TV+.
