Steam Now Allows Attaching PC Specs to Reviews as Valve Collects In-Game Framerate Data
Valve continues its steady refinement of the Steam platform.
Valve has concluded the testing phase for a new Steam feature and has officially rolled out a comprehensive client update.
Steam users can now supplement their game reviews with detailed PC hardware specifications, including the operating system, CPU and GPU models, and the total amount of RAM and VRAM.
Furthermore, a new option allows players to share anonymized frame rate data with Valve. According to the company, this data will help them “gather insights on game compatibility and further optimize the Steam experience.”
This performance-tracking feature is currently in beta and is primarily geared toward devices running SteamOS.
