Sony to Publish Bad Robot Games’ Unannounced Four-Player Co‑op Shooter
Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed it will publish an unannounced cooperative shooter currently in development at Bad Robot Games. The title is described as a four‑player cooperative shooter under the direction of Mike Booth, the designer behind Left 4 Dead, and it is planned for release on PlayStation 5 and PC at an undetermined later date.
Bad Robot expanded into games in 2018 when JJ Abrams announced the formation of Bad Robot Games. That venture originally involved a partnership with Tencent and included WB Games as a minority stakeholder; however, it has not been disclosed whether those companies are participating in this particular project from Booth’s team.
In a statement accompanying the announcement, SIE executive Christian Svensson praised Bad Robot Games’ assembled talent and creative ambition, saying the studio’s approach aligns with Sony’s goal of delivering emotionally resonant, innovative interactive experiences. Sony added it is eager for players to explore the world the studio is creating.
Bad Robot Games operates as a division of Bad Robot, the production company known for franchises such as Mission: Impossible, the Star Wars sequels, and the recent Star Trek films. The studio describes itself as a remote-first team focused on crafting games tied to existing and original transmedia properties.
