Psychonauts Developers Announce New Game Thank You Bus Driver
Double Fine Productions, the creators of Psychonauts, have announced Thank You Bus Driver, a chaotic city bus simulator.
Double Fine Productions has revealed its first game since returning to independent operations. In Thank You Bus Driver, players transport passengers against the clock, follow changing rules, and physically deal with rule-breakers when necessary.
The studio, known for Psychonauts, Keeper, and Brutal Legend, is currently developing the title for PC only. It will launch on Steam, GOG, Humble Store, and itch.io. A release date has not been announced.
Thank You Bus Driver is described as a chaotic story about the job of a city bus driver. Rules will change every day, and the depot will add new restrictions. Players will be allowed to use their fists against particularly disobedient passengers or throw them out through the back door.
The main objective is to make it to the next stop on time. To achieve this, drivers can take shortcuts straight through a cornfield without worrying too much about pedestrians, cars, and fences.
For successful trips, passengers will leave “Thank Yous” that increase the time reserve while unlocking new bus parts, city options, and other bonuses.
