Sega Raises Employee Salaries and Introduces Bonuses for Contributions to Development

Sega has announced another company-wide pay increase. From April 2026 the average monthly salary will rise by 10%. The decision builds on the policy introduced in 2023 and aims to improve working conditions amid rising living costs.

In an official statement the company said it is raising both base salaries and entry-level pay for new hires “to foster a stable, secure workplace in response to current social changes.”

The starting salary for university graduates will increase from ¥300,000 to ¥330,000 per month ($1,940–$2,130) — approximately $193 more.

Sega will also implement a new compensation framework that takes into account an employee’s role and their contributions to the company’s development.

The company plans to expand programs that support work–life balance, including “Fami+,” which provides childcare and eldercare assistance, and “Job+,” which enables employees to combine their main roles with additional projects to encourage innovation.
