Caribbean Legend: Age of Pirates Update 1.2 Adds Story DLC and Improvements
The developers have prepared both free and premium content.
In September, the ReCon Team studio returned to the pirate RPG Caribbean Legend: Age of Pirates to release a major update 1.2 alongside the Buccaneers expansion.
The developers announced that they have introduced first-person broadside ship firing mechanics, implemented numerous fixes, and reworked and optimized the loading and save screens.
In addition, they added a new female protagonist, Emmanuelle Pardal, featuring a unique prologue and a masquerade ball quest in Willemstad where “intrigues are woven right during the dances.”

Peter Blood’s starting quest was also reworked to make it more substantial and closer to Raphael Sabatini’s original novel.
To celebrate the release of the French buccaneers DLC, the developers decided to add Michel de Grammont’s prologue to the game:
Embark on an adventure from the Grammont estate to acquire the unique sloop “Veinard” and hire master gunner Jean-Jacques Granier into your crew.
The Buccaneers expansion brings a new Buccaneers faction to Caribbean Legend: Age of Pirates, along with a historical campaign allowing players to take part in 17th-century raids and expeditions. The arsenal has been expanded with a powerful musket and a cutlass with a human bone hilt, alongside a unique Margarita galleon and the ability to observe the “evolution of the Buccaneers’ outpost”:
Start with a small buccaneer camp and turn it into a well-equipped settlement. As you progress, the camp will fill with new characters and expand its functionality. Base expansion is especially effective for players in the pirate faction.

The full patch notes for update 1.2 of Caribbean Legend: Age of Pirates are available at the following link. The developers warned that due to the abundance of technical fixes and new features, players will need to start a “new game.” However, those who prefer can remain on the old version of the game and continue their playthrough by switching the game branch to “legacy” in their Steam settings.
