“See How They Run” Tops the U.S. Box Office
The documentary feature «You Can See Everything», directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, claimed the top spot at the North American box office for the weekend of October 30 – November 1. The film grossed approximately $10.6 million, narrowly beating the superhero horror movie «Clayface», which brought in $10.4 million. This is a remarkable achievement for a documentary, especially considering it clinched first place in its third week of release.
The film’s cumulative box office earnings in the US and Canada have now reached $63.9 million against a modest production budget of around $7 million. The picture chronicles the story of Elizabeth Holmes, the disgraced founder of Theranos who was convicted of investor fraud. Fielder and Oppenheim spent over three years crafting the project, which boasts a runtime of nearly three hours.
Meanwhile, «Clayface» suffered a 57% drop in its second weekend, adding $10.4 million to its domestic tally. Its total gross in North America stands at $44.1 million, with worldwide revenues hitting roughly $83 million. Given its $44 million production budget, the film’s financial viability remains uncertain once marketing expenses and theater revenue splits are factored in.
