Sebastian Stan’s “A Different Man” to Premiere at Mayak Film Festival

The Russian premiere of the drama “Fjord” is set to take place at the Mayak Film Festival in Gelendzhik as a special out-of-competition screening, according to organizers.

Directed by Romanian filmmaker Cristian Mungiu, the film famously captured the Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. “Fjord” is scheduled for theatrical release in Russia on October 29.

The project features Oscar-nominated stars Sebastian Stan (the Marvel Cinematic Universe) and Renate Reinsve (“The Worst Person in the World”). The narrative centers on a Romanian family that has relocated to Norway. Their lives are upended when they face allegations of domestic abuse, triggering a grueling legal battle that ultimately unearths a series of deeply buried secrets.

The Mayak Festival of Contemporary Russian Cinema runs from October 3 to October 8. The event will kick off with the screening of Alexei Uchitel’s biographical drama “Noise of Time.”
