Revealed during the Xbox Partner Preview, Armatus is a third-person roguelite shooter slated for release in 2026. The story unfolds in a Paris devastated by a demonic incursion following humanity’s fall, where players navigate ruined boulevards and shadowed cathedrals in search of salvation.

You assume the role of an ageless warrior from a secretive order who blends conventional firearms with otherworldly powers. Combat alternates between ranged gunplay and sweeping melee attacks from a luminous, scythe-like armament. Each expedition pushes you closer to the Sunless Gate — a mystical portal rumored to open the path to heaven.

Armatus is built around run-based progression: death ends a run and sends you back to the start, but each attempt grants new loadouts and unlocks further abilities as you advance. The game emphasizes iterative growth, encouraging experimentation with weapon synergies and supernatural upgrades across successive runs.

Armatus will launch on Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2026 and will be available on Xbox Game Pass at release.
