School Gameplay: Preview (Updated)

Hello everyone,

We are excited to begin sharing our latest progress through a new video series. As we gear up for the upcoming April and May updates, we want to provide more structured insights into our development journey. This week, we are pulling back the curtain on the “School Life” feature in inZOI, which is slated for a May release. We look forward to your feedback on this build, as it will be instrumental in how we refine the system before launch.

Furthermore, we are seeking your input on a potential technical adjustment. Our team is currently exploring ways to optimize CPU and GPU performance to enhance overall stability and minimize crashes. Internal testing indicates that limiting interior rendering and crowd density in areas outside the active Zoi’s immediate vicinity significantly improves game performance.

Because this change impacts the gameplay experience, we intend to introduce this as an optional setting rather than a forced requirement. This approach allows us to boost stability for all players without compromising the depth of your daily simulation. Those who prioritize total immersion can choose to keep these features enabled, accepting the performance trade-off in exchange for greater visual density.

Please let us know your thoughts on both this technical trade-off and our current direction for school gameplay.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,

– Kjun

Kjun’s Reply to Community Feedback

Hello everyone! It’s a beautiful Wednesday here in Korea; the mountains and fields are in full bloom, and I hope the environment where you are is equally lovely.

This week, we were overwhelmed by the insightful feedback regarding our developing High School system. From performance optimization to social dynamics and cultural diversity, your suggestions are invaluable. Thank you for your continued support.

High School System & Content

Many of you expressed a desire for region-specific school cultures—such as US, Korean, and Indonesian models—along with robust extracurriculars, social hierarchies, and career pathways. While I want to be honest that our current build may not encompass every one of these ambitious ideas just yet, please know that we are working tirelessly to expand these features as much as possible.

Our current foundation focuses on essential student experiences: classes, homework, examinations, prom, and graduation, alongside the development of teen-specific traits and aspirations.

Social Dynamics & Club Activities

You’ve highlighted the need for schools to function as living, social hubs rather than just buildings. We hear you loud and clear regarding cliques, student rivalries, and the social weight of extracurricular clubs. We are currently iterating on these social systems to ensure that school feels like a place where drama and relationships truly matter.

School Events & Daily Life

We’ve noted your requests for school festivals, sports competitions, and elaborate social events like “promposals.” While we may not have the capacity to include every single one of these in this specific update, they remain high on our roadmap for future expansions.

Academics & Career

We are currently establishing the roles of teachers, principals, and cafeteria staff. We are also implementing systems for early graduation and, yes, the highly requested lockers are on the way! Later on, we plan to flesh out these staff roles into fully realized career paths.

Performance & Optimization

To clarify, our goal for the new rendering and spawn density settings is to ensure the game remains accessible for low-end systems while keeping the experience seamless for high-end users. This will be a customizable feature, ensuring you maintain control over your own immersion level.

Customization & Interactions

We are aware of the demand for diverse, high-quality fashion, including prom attire, professional uniforms, and culturally inclusive styles. I’m happy to share that we are currently hard at work developing high heels and dresses for an upcoming update—thank you for your patience!

Thank you again for your incredible passion. We are carefully processing your feedback on accessibility, body customization, and regional cultural accuracy. We are committed to transparency as we move forward and look forward to sharing more in our upcoming video this Friday.
