SanDisk and Samsung Delay NAND Shipments: Transcend Faces Memory Shortage Since October
Transcend circulated an internal notice — shared by user jukan05 on X — stating that Samsung and SanDisk have postponed NAND shipments.
Since October, Transcend has not been receiving chips, which has significantly constrained product availability. Memory manufacturers were unable to supply the required volumes amid an industry-wide shortfall, affecting deliveries and commitments to customers.
The situation worsened in the fourth quarter as demand from large data centers and hyperscalers surged. Major chipmakers are prioritizing those customers, which has driven prices higher and left availability extremely limited. Only last week we received reports of cost increases of 50–100%. The trend continues — unusually rapid and abnormal.
Transcend forecasts the shortage will persist for another 3–5 months. Restrictions are expected to remain through late 2025 and into early 2026, when the situation reaches its peak. In November, SanDisk raised contract NAND prices by 50%, prompting module manufacturers — including Transcend, Innodisk and Apacer — to temporarily halt shipments. Transcend suspended new quotations and dispatches as of November 7 and has officially warned of reduced availability.
