Sacha Baron Cohen to Star in Quentin Tarantino Play
According to media reports, Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen is set to headline a brand-new theatrical production directed by Quentin Tarantino.
Titled The Popinjay Cavalier, the “raucous comedy” is scheduled to make its West End debut in London in 2027. The narrative is set against the backdrop of 1830s Europe, though specific details regarding Baron Cohen’s character remain under wraps.
News of Tarantino’s foray into theater first emerged earlier this spring. In addition to this stage project, the filmmaker is currently developing his tenth and final feature film, as well as a sequel to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, titled The Further Misadventures of Cliff Booth, which will see the return of Brad Pitt.
Baron Cohen most recently appeared in the Netflix satire Ladies First. He is also slated for the October release of the comedy Ali G: Who Am I?, which has already sparked backlash and calls for a boycott in the United Kingdom due to accusations of racism.
