Rockstar Updated Red Dead Redemption 2’s Steam Page — Is a PS5 and Xbox Series Release Coming?
After a lengthy silence, Rockstar Games updated the game’s Steam page — the first alteration since 2019, when the title launched on PC. That modest description change has ignited a surge of rumors about a potential new edition.
Speculation includes an “Enhanced” edition for current-generation consoles — PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S — as well as a fresh update for PC. Some outlets even suggest possible compatibility with the Switch 2. The community has long been hoping for an optimized release.
Other events have added fuel to the chatter: the game’s companion app was quietly removed from digital storefronts, and earlier traces of updates hinted at a port for modern platforms. While the Steam description change doesn’t confirm anything outright, its timing and context are persuasive.
Rockstar has not issued an official statement. Still, given Red Dead Redemption 2’s (RDR2) lasting success and its importance to the studio’s catalog, the chances of a new version remain considerable.
