With Grand Theft Auto VI scheduled to arrive on November 19, Rockstar Games has maintained an extraordinary level of secrecy surrounding its next blockbuster. Despite being under three months away from debut, players had yet to see any official, unedited gameplay. However, that veil of confidentiality was breached last week when unauthorized clips surfaced across social channels. While fans initially debated the legitimacy of the circulating footage, an official response from Rockstar has validated the materials and made the studio’s frustration abundantly clear.

We know that many of you have been waiting to hear from us regarding the events of the past week. It would be an understatement to say that having videos of Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay leak in this way has been heartbreaking for our team, and this is obviously not how we intended for you to see the game after all this time. We are very sorry that everything has taken as long as it has — from getting the game finished (nearly there!) to sharing more details and official gameplay, and providing the community with everything you want to know.

We are very excited for everyone to see the extended look tomorrow. It has taken longer than we wanted to get it ready, but as with everything we do know, we know we need to exceed your expectations, and we are determined to deliver at the level you expect and deserve. While it is unfortunate that the intended game experience may now be impacted by some spoilers, we hope that everyone will wait a bit longer to experience the game for themselves on November 19.

The timing of these leaks proves especially stinging, occurring mere hours ahead of Rockstar’s deep-dive “Extended Look” showcase on Netflix, scheduled for August 27. Premature leaks disrupt any major promotional rollout, but suffering an unauthorized reveal on the doorstep of a meticulously coordinated showcase explains why developers described the ordeal as genuinely crushing.

The gaming public caught its previous glimpse of the title in May 2025 with the arrival of Trailer 2, which has surpassed 178 million views. Meanwhile, the historic December 2023 reveal trailer continues to dominate video charts with nearly 290 million views.

Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19. The upcoming Extended Look broadcast streams exclusively on Netflix tomorrow at 12:00 PM PT / 3:00 PM ET, followed by a public YouTube upload shortly after.
